Journal History

Pedagogia: Jurnal Ilmiah Pendidikan has a long-standing commitment to disseminating high-quality educational research. Since its inception, the journal has continuously evolved to meet the growing demands of the global academic community, adapting to technological advancements and international publishing standards.

The significant milestones in the journal's history are as follows:

  • 2001 (Foundation & Print Era): Pedagogia was originally established as a print-based scholarly journal. The journal officially received its Print ISSN (P-ISSN: 1693-5799) on September 29, 2001. During this era, the journal served as a crucial publication platform for local and national educational researchers.

  • 2015 (Digital Transformation): Embracing the Open Access movement, the journal transitioned into an electronic publication starting with Volume 7, Issue 1 (2015). The journal was granted its Electronic ISSN (E-ISSN: 2460-2175) on July 6, 2015, marking its commitment to digital preservation and broader accessibility.

  • 2024 (National Accreditation Achievement): The journal’s editorial quality and rigorous review process were formally recognized by the Indonesian government. Pedagogia achieved the SINTA 3 accreditation rank based on the Decree of the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia (SK No. 177/E/KPT/2024). This accreditation status is retroactively valid starting from Volume 13, Issue 2 (2021) until Volume 18, Issue 1 (2026).

  • 2024 (Infrastructure & Platform Upgrade): To enhance the user experience, ensure better editorial workflow, and align with international technical standards, the journal migrated its management system to Open Journal Systems (OJS) 3. Starting from Volume 16, Issue 2 (2024), the journal also moved to a new, dedicated institutional domain: [https://pedagogia-fkip.unpak.ac.id](https://pedagogia-fkip.unpak.ac.id) (previously hosted at [https://journal.unpak.ac.id/index.php/pedagogia/](https://journal.unpak.ac.id/index.php/pedagogia/)).

  • 2025 (Internationalization Policy): In a strategic move to reach a global readership and prepare for top-tier international indexation (such as DOAJ and Scopus), Pedagogia updated its language policy. Starting from Volume 17, Issue 1 (2025), the journal strictly accepts and publishes articles written exclusively in English, transitioning from its previous bilingual (Indonesian and English) format.
